The apartment was stunning. Table and small kitchen area if you want to eat in the apartment. Wifi and a computer. Great nights sleep with a comfy bed a blind that keep the room really dark and air conditioning....
The location was great. You really felt like you were in the middle of the action. Cafes just downstairs, staying in the middle of the Diocletian's Palace so right in the middle of all the history!
Split is a fabulous city and this is the perfect location to explore. Recommend Buffet Fife for huge cheap meals. Figa for food and cocktails. Ghetto bar for relaxed drinks.

I have stayed in Kaleta apartments on 4 different occasions, Each time in a different apartment ( I have stayed in two apartments above Teak Café, and two down the street). Each time everything has been fantastic, all of the apartments are situated in old city of Split with all the charm that could be asked for. This time I was in one of the apartments above Teak Café. I have met the owner (a bald, well spirited croat) and spoke with him a few times. He is always has the utmost concern about our stay and personally makes sure our trip is the best. I won't stay anywhere else in Split.

While traveling to Croatia, I spent a total of 3 days in Split at Kaleta Apartments. I had the pleasure of staying in two different apartment buildings because I traveled to Hvar for a day in the middle. The first two nights I stayed in Apartment 1, and the last night I stayed in the Suite with the pull-out couch. I can't tell you which location I liked better, because they were both so amazing!
Apartment 1 is located right next to a bunch of little shops and cafes, making it very easy to get a quick bite to eat. The Suite was a little more secluded, off of a side street, but still within the walls of Diocletian's Palace and only a 2-3 minute walk from the other set of apartments. I can't even begin to describe how amazing the location of these apartments is. It feels as though you have been transported back in time and are roaming around on the Roman alleyways of Diocletian's day. Every turn feels like a new adventure. The rooms themselves were extremely charming with hints of Croatian history mixed in with modern times. And of course, they were very clean and comfortable. Both rooms had Wifi and computer access. We always ate out, but there was a nice little kitchenette available as well.
The hosts were very accommodating, thoughtful, and courteous. They were able to work around our schedules and helped us navigate not only Split, but the rest of Croatia. I was very impressed with their kindness and would highly recommend Kaleta Apartments to anyone visiting Croatia.

This is my 3rd time staying in Kaleta Apartments - every time, I'm blown away by the shear awesomeness of the experience. This time, I stayed in the recently expanded set of apartments a hundred or so meters from the original apartments. Still within the walls of Diocletian's Palace, these apartments are seconds away from the hustle and bustle off the main squares of Split but in a secluded ally in the old city that offers complete peace and quiet - an unparalleled dichotomy. The apartments are decorated with modern and antique relics of Diocletian's Palace and Split artwork. Naturally, there is Wifi, satellite TV, computer, fridge, and massage showers - all of which makes leaving the apartments difficult. Seconds away from all the historic attractions of Split including the Riva, Sv. Duje, the ferry, bus station, cafes, etc. About a ten minute walk from the beach and night life of Split. It is a family run set of apartments with incredibly welcoming hosts who will greet you with some domestic cookies/fruits. They will escort you to your apartments and ensure that everything about your visit to Split is perfect. Hosts were also able to help with onward travel to Hvar - ferry and accommodation arrangements. Highly recommend!

My friend & I rented an apartment for 4 days while visiting Split. We loved the location (right in Old Town) and felt like locals throughout our stay. The apartment is immaculate and spacious; very comfortable. The ownersare very nice - met us at the apartment upon arriving, providing umbrellas for the unfortunately bad weather, and answering questions promptly. There is free wifi and a desktop computer for use in the living room area.

We recently stayed in Apartment Piazza for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon in Croatia. The location is absolutely amazing, right in the heart of the Diocletian Palace. While the apartment is located between 2 very busy cafes/bars, the windows offer great noise reduction and the apartment has air conditioning. We easily met the owner, Nino, who was very friendly and helpful. Even though he does not live on site, he can easily be contacted via phone or the intercom buzzer. The apartment was nicely decorated and very comfortable. It had a small kitchen and a bathroom which had a massage shower. There are many great restaurants and cafes close by and the harbour is a short walk from the apartment. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Split. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

A very nice room, smack in the middle of Split, inside the palace of Diocletian. Bit noisy in the evenings, but quiet at nights. It had a very good double bed, and a luxurious shower. Though not used by us, it had also a small kitchen, complete with all the utensils. Free wifi.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. Also for us a Travelers' Choice Winner!

I booked Kaleta Apartments (room 4) after reading excellent reviews and was happy to find they were true. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the old town but very quiet. The room is decorated very nicely. We were allowed to check in early. There is a computer with free internet. The price was great for how lovely the apartment was. Unfortunately the weather was a bit rainy but Split is still a beautiful place. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and can think of no complaints.

I have booked stay in Kaleta Apartments twice last year and I was extremely surprised with excellent price and oustanding behavior of owner Mr. Novica Raic. Property is located in the old part of Split (Diocletian's Palace) and it's featuring spacious rooms with comfortable King-size bed, free Wi-Fi, massage shower, small kitchen, etc.
Im warmly recommending "Kaleta Apartments" because this is place where you can truly experience Split and Dalmatia.

First of all Split is a must-see destination in Croatia, historic and beautiful. Staying in the middle of this at the Kaleta Apartments was extraordinary. Just off a center of activity and a short walk from Diocletian's Palace we felt like city insiders. While close to the old city hub, the location is extremely quiet, and the room beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The apartment was very clean, good size with a very nice bathroom, and had all the amenities one could want for an enjoyable stay. In addition, the owners, Nova and Negri, were most gracious and helpful. They were as kind as any hosts we have met, and we have traveled throughoutEurope. If our plans had permitted we would have stayed longer than the few days we had. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the Kaleta Apartments for anyone visiting Split.

The apartment we stayed in was just outside the walls of the Diocletian's Palace, right in the centre of everything. We had the suite - a spacious room with some kitchen facilities, very nicely presented. We had a bit of trouble finding the apartments in the first place, but in the end I recognised it from the picture! Our apartment itself was just round the corner. As previously mentioned by other reviewers, Kaleta apartments are very well thought-out. There is good WIFI, as well as computer that guests can use. Neno was incredibly helpful, letting us leave our luggage in the room when we arrived early, and allowing us to store it in the lobby when we departed late! He also gave us lots of background and history of the apartments. The road outside is noisy but the windows are incredible at soundproofing! We have no complaints whatsoever and would recommend it.

My husband and I stayed in one of the Kaleta Apartments for two nights. We were thoroughly comfortable. The apartment is in a noisy neighborhood, but the windows manage to shut out all the noise so even a light sleeper like myself slept well. We rented the larger apartment (referred to as the suite) at 70 Euros a night. It has one large room containing the bed, TV, AC, small corner kitchen (microwave, cook top, refrigerator), table with 4 chairs, and a sofa that makes into a bed. It has an ensuite bathroom with shower. Everything is clean, modern and works well. I liked the exposed ceiling beams and stone walls that show the building's medieval heritage. Our room and two other apartments share a homey, sitting room containing a computer, and for tasting, some local fruits and liqueurs. Everything about this apartment from reserving the room to check in/out was well organize.

We stayed in the Kaleta apartment for five days. We chose it because Rick Steves suggested it and we have found that his suggestions are always spot-on. We like staying in the middle of cities and the apartment is situated near the heart of Split's 'main square,' that is at the heart of the ruined Diocletian's Palace. Though the apartment building is old, the apartment was remodeled and up to date. The purple tiled bathroom was clean and very convenient. The apartment's windows were so thick that they blocked out all the sound/music from the tavern below. The owner put a lot of consideration here for the guests who booked this place to have a restful, quiet night. Davo-the young man who welcomed us was charming and helpful in every way. Negri, the owner (who we did not meet) was eager to help us (through Davo's conversations with her) and followed through with little requests. In particular she arranged a taxi driver for us to get to Split's airport at 4:45 am. We would highly recommend Kaleta to anyone.

Great location right inside Diocletian's palace. Took the bus from airport and dropped us off at the port which is a 10 walk if you walk really slow. Not difficult to find with the map that they sent us. We were just walking on the street looking for the apartment when Dado met up with us and led us the rest of the way. He brought us into the apartment, showed us how everything worked and even gave us suggestions on things to do and where the locals eat. Very clean and tastefully decorated. Looks just like the pictures on the website.

Communication with Kaleta Apartments was very good and they arranged a taxi to pick us up at the airport, which was excellent, as we got into Split very late. The apartments are perfectly located inside Diocletian's palace, and are both comfortable and characterful. It was probably the best value accommodation we had during out entire trip. The soundproofing was very good, as there was a very loud bar (Ga Ga) nearby, which we could not hear, and it is perfectly located to explore the wide variety of bars and restaurants in the palace. It was also a reasonably short trek, with luggage, down to the port, for connections to the islands.

Stayed here for 3 nights in July and really must agree with majority of reviews on here. This was a fantastic place to stay. We had Apartment 5 and although the initial walk to it got us a bit nervous (it was down a dodgyback alley) when we got to the apartment really we were delighted. We were given a VERY warm welcome and really the owner could not do enough for us. The apartment was very clean, fantastically decorated with mini Kitchenandutensils. There were also supplies of tea and coffee for us to use (as well as some local spirts for us to sample). Everything in this place looked brand new but really it is the location that is the winner here! Right in the heart of the old town within the city walls!! Air con worked very well and WiFi was available to use at all times. I would say if you are visiting Split and you want a safe, modern apartment with location to make you smile and an owner who clearly loves what they do please book here.
